This week, two elementary schools in Nixa became the targets of bomb threats amid an uptick of school safety concerns across Missouri and the U.S. The unfounded threats, which Nixa police say were made online, prompted the Wednesday afternoon evacuation of High Pointe Elementary and Thursday afternoon evacuation of Espy Elementary.

Nixa Police stated the sweep is complete and the school is all clear. Police stated that they believe yesterday’s High Pointe Elementary and today’s Espy Elementary bomb threats came from the same general area.

The bomb threat directed at Nixa's Espy Elementary on Thursday is "very similar" to the one received by Nixa's High Pointe Elementary on Wednesday.

The threat targeted at High Pointe Elementary was web-based, according to the Nixa Police Department, and an investigation is ongoing.
